Helen Bruner, a native of Philadelphia, is a Grammy® nominated artist, songwriter, and producer, known for being one-half of the dynamic duo, Helen Bruner & Terry Jones. Bruner's musical journey began as a teenager when her song, "Perfect Lover," was recorded by Grammy® winners, the Pointer Sisters, under the production of the legendary Richard Perry. In 1990, as a recording artist, Bruner achieved success with her self-penned house classic, "Over You," performed by Taken feat. Helen Bruner on Warlock Records and licensed to Island Records UK for the now iconic War Party compilation. Catching the attention of Cardiac Records, a subsidiary of Virgin Records, in 1991, Bruner signed with the label and released the Billboard Dance Top 20 classic, "Gimme Real Love," also written by Bruner. Before Cardiac folded into Virgin Records, Bruner's single "Missin You" reached #72 on the Billboard R&B charts.

Bruner's impact extends beyond the charts, with her songs reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Charts, featuring in Film/TV, and being licensed to over 250 compilation albums worldwide. A defining moment in Bruner & Jones' career came at the 54th Annual Grammy® Awards in 2012, where their song "Get To Know Me" secured a win in the Best Children's Album category for the Grammy® winning "All About Bullies...Big and Small." Their journey as independent artists and women navigating the new music business model has been captured in the documentary film, "Indie Soul," directed by filmmaker Chakka Reeves, premiering on September 24, 2011, at the Congressional Black Caucus Film Series in Washington DC.
